Plans are shaping up for the 2023 NMPW conference, which will take place at Isleta Resort on March 10 and 11. The conference theme is “Telling the Untold Story.” A detailed program will be announced January 20, as we are still waiting for responses from some invited speakers. There will be events on Friday afternoon in addition to the usual welcoming reception that evening. Events will also take place all day Saturday, including the Zia Book Award Luncheon and the Awards Banquet. Registration is open now, and hotel rooms reservations can be made. Albuquerque Press Women and Friends will meet virtually by Zoom on Monday, April 11, at 12 noon to discuss the guardianship issue, which could potentially affect any one of us. 

Our invited speakers are Kent Walz, senior editor at the Albuquerque Journal, who has written several stories about this, and Colleen Heild, investigative reporter, who has also covered the topic.
