Santa Fe New Mexican Reporter Steve Terrell Reflects on a Career

Journalist Steve Terrell has just retired from forty years of reporting in Santa Fe, most of it at the Santa Fe New Mexican. He calls himself a full-fledged Rock ‘n’ Roll retiree and he will be speaking to Albuquerque Press Women and Friends as a kick-off to a new year. During his long career Terrell covered Santa Fe City Hall, and the New Mexico Legislature, along with the local music scene. In this quote from a farewell interview with the New Mexican he said. “I loved getting involved in the stories,” he continued. “I loved covering City Hall, the crime beat, the political beat. I like seeing the sausage get made.”

Terrell is retired, but he still handles his Sunday night radio show on KSFR “Terrell’s Sound World.” He still does his monthly podcast “The Big Enchilada” a part of Radio Mutation Rock ‘n’ Roll Network And he still maintains his bigenchiladapodcast.com website.

APWF Press Women and Friends meet monthly on the second Monday of the month. Anyone is welcome at meetings, but non-members will be charged an additional $5.
