NMPW Board Officers

    Regina Griego

    President

    Dr. Regina Griego is an award-winning author, coach, speaker, and a retired engineer from Albuquerque, NM where she was born. She wrote Sins of the System, Transcending-Futures.com. She is the President for New Mexico Press Women, the Survivor Membership Lead for New Mexico Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense, an International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Fellow, and on the Board of the INCOSE Foundation.

      Léonie Rosenstiel

      Vice President, Broadsheet Editor, Public Relations Chair

      As writer, editor, producer, and collaborator, Léonie Rosenstiel created award-winning fiction and nonfiction. SWW’s PR Chair since 2019, she was also its vice president (2022-23). Since 2019, she has been NMPW’s PR Director. She was unanimously elected as vice-president in 2020, and again in 2022. Her book Protecting Mama has won 18 literary awards, including a First Place for Memoir in the International Impact Book Awards, against a field of 200 competitors. She was named NMPW’s Communicator of Achievement in 2023.

      Susan Walton

      Secretary

      Susan Walton, part-time activity coordinator at Sandia Prep School, was a beat reporter on a daily, Albuquerque’s PIO and a fundraiser. A past NM Communicator of Achievement, she served on boards like NM Foundation for Open Government and Albuquerque Press Women. She is the treasurer of St John’s Thrift Shop.

        Linda Lockett

        Treasurer | Albuquerque Press Women Steering Committee Representative

        Linda Lockett, APR has worked in public relations and advertising for 30+ years. She also taught journalism and English and was a reporter for a semi-weekly newspaper in Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English, an MBA and two additional master’s degrees. Native of El Paso, Linda now lives in Placitas, NM.

        Catherine Lynch

        Communications Contests Chair

        Catherine Lynch serves in Communications, Media and Data Analysis for the First Judicial District Attorney in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has worked in various aspects of the film production and creative industries, applying her skills of storytelling such as teaching, coaching, directing, casting, marketing, public relations, video editing and design. Known for her innovative approach and leadership skills, her diverse experience ranges from small independent projects to large-scale commercial productions.

          Loretta Hall

          Communicator of Achievement Chair, Member at Large

          Loretta Hall, a freelance writer specializing in engineering and space exploration, has written extensively for magazines and has authored ten nonfiction books. Loretta has been a member of the NMPW Board since 2012, serving as Zia Book Award Chair, Communicator of Achievement (COA) Chair, Treasurer, and President. In 2016 she was named COA by both NMPW and the National Federation of Press Women.

            Margaret Cheasebro

            High School Contest Coordinator:

            Margaret Cheasebro is a long-time member of New Mexico Press Women. She was their historian and now is High School Communications Contest coordinator. She has won many awards in NMPW and NFPW communications contests. A retired educator and journalist, she is now an author and alternative health care provider. She has 10 published books. Thousands of her newspaper and magazine articles have been published as well as some puzzles, short stories and plays.

              Arianna Andreatta

              Historian

              Arianna is a videographer interested in identifying individuals’ unique perspectives by listening closely to their stories. She enjoys the personable aspect of bringing clarity and confidence to her clients with gentle coaching and collaboration.

              Her 10 year career in video production has allowed her to communicate to specific audiences in order to connect, build empathy and spark a change in thinking.

                Sherri Burr

                Immediate Past President

                Sherri Burr is the author of over thirty books and hundreds of articles. Her 27th book, Complicated Lives: Free Blacks in Virginia: 1619-1865 (Carolina Academic Press, 2019), was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in History. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Princeton University, and Yale Law School, Dr. Burr has received both Monticello and Mount Vernon Fellowships. She won the 2021 NMPW and NFPW Communicator of Achievement Awards.

                Brandon Larrañaga

                Scholarship Chair

                Brandon Larrañaga is a graduate student at Texas Tech University, finishing his master’s degree in agricultural communications. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 2023 with bachelor’s degrees in agricultural communications and journalism and media with an emphasis in strategic communications. A native of Las Vegas, NM, Larrañaga was a recipient of the Doris Gregory Memorial Scholarship in 2022, and has served as NMPW’s scholarship chair since.

                  Jennifer Hull

                  Zia Book Award Chair

                  Jennifer Hull is the award-winning author of Shook: An Earthquake, A Legendary Mountain Guide, and Everest’s Deadliest Day.  Shook, her first book, won the 2021 National Outdoor Book Award for history/biography and the 2021 Zia Book Award and the 2021 National Federation of Press Women’s Communications Contest for history/biography.  She graduated cum laude from Cornell University as a history major and has a master’s degree in education.  She has taught K-12 and at the University of New Mexico. Born and raised in New York, she currently resides in northern New Mexico.
