New PRC Commissioner to speak to Albuquerque Press Women and Friends

Cynthia Hall, newly elected commissioner to the Public Regulation Commission will speak on “Demystifying the Public Regulation Commission” at the regular meeting on December 12 at 11:45 a.m. at the Claim Jumper restaurant (5001 Jefferson NE).

The PRC is one of the most important commissions in New Mexico. It regulates issues related to utilities, telecommunication and transportation. Hall is a former staff attorney for the commission. She will speak about the challenges the PRC faces in controversial areas such as coal versus renewable sources of energy in the state’s energy picture.

Everyone is welcome. Non-members will be charged an additional $5 over the $15. meal. A $10 salad bar option is also available.

Albuquerque Press Women and Friends is formed primarily of people interested in or working in some aspect of the communications industry. It is a good place to meet people interested in the many facets of the business of communication in New Mexico.
