NMPW 2011 Scholarship Guidelines

New Mexico Press Women will award two $750 Doris Gregory Memorial scholarships to students (male or female) majoring in print journalism, broadcasting, photojournalism, public relations or advertising. In addition, for 2011, we are offering one $2,000 Cary Herz scholarship specific to students studying photojournalism.

Scholarships will be awarded to recipients at the New Mexico Press Women State Convention Awards Banquet Friday, April 8, 2011, in Las Cruces. (Note: Recipients will receive two tickets to the awards banquet and one-night stay at the conference hotel).

Completed applications must be postmarked by Friday, March 11, 2011.

Main criteria for this award are career potential and financial need, although scholastic standing is a consideration. Students must be a New Mexico resident enrolled at/attending a Post-Secondary/Higher Education institution.

We would appreciate your help in getting this notice out to potential applicants. Please post prominently or include in your scholarship listing or email alerts.

In addition to completing the application, students are required to send work samples, financial aid award letter, unofficial transcript, one letter of recommendation, brief essay.
